Made in the USA, ths Council Tool Hudson Bay Axe is a great allrounder, made with excellent Steel, tried and true design and from a company with a long lineage.

The 2lb head has a 4in wide Bit and delivers a great Wood bite, while the shallow Convex Grind does the work of seperating the Wood fibre as its passes through.

The Steel is the extremely tough 1060 High Carbon and the durable haft is a moderated Swan Neck with a good end flare for comfort and mechanaical advantage. The Interior of the eye is tapered to make a strong bond and the Head is seated with Hard Wood and Metal wedges.

A very packable Axe, the HB is an excellent camp Axe or General Purpose Axe.

The Hudson Bay axe is age honoured design that has endured from the time of the Voyageurs because of its practicality and its strength~ a time when if transversing the Great Northern landscape, tools had to be relied upon.

The axe is beautifully crafted and swings as well as ever its illustrious ancestors did, through all those years in mountains, backwoods, lakes and rivers of Canada, the HB Axe has made its mark..
