Silky make a lot of different saws, turning out some of the best folding saws you can buy and at great prices too. This however, is different, the Katanaboy 1000 requires total rejigging of the factory machines, the labour requirments are 95 times that of one of its compact saws and these saws are made in small batches with a lot of skilled handwork involved.

 

The prices are subsequently very high per saw, but what you get is the longest, most capable folding Saw money can buy.

 

 

The 100cm blade cuts deep on the pull stroke, the stroke is so long, it powers through wood fibre and then ejects the sawn wood on the Push stroke. The huge blade has a Progressive tooth ratio (5 per 30mm to 2.5) the slighlty finer teeth helping with the initial start, then the bigger, agressive teeth doing the bull work.

 

The teeth are specially ground and the blade can re re-sharpened. The Lock is two stage and the handle offers vibration absorbing, ergonomic grip and plenty of space to place your hands!

 

This is a very capable saw and when a chainsaw isn't available, this can cut wood! Cabin, Campsite, Snowmobile, it would be right at home.
